At the Movies with Casey Foreman: “A Real Pain”
A Real Pain is a film that makes you feel.
Jesse Eisenberg and Kieren Culkin are phenomenal – Eisenberg both in front of and behind the camera (director).
They are absolutely perfect in their roles, as disconnected cousins who were once extremely close, trying to revamp the excitement and love from their childhood.
This film will have you laughing, crying, and getting extremely frustrated – very similar to how your family members can make you feel.
The script, camera-shots, and performances make this a must-watch, though it might be difficult based on limited theater showings.
This has me extremely excited for more Eisenberg films.
Maybe my second favorite watch of 2024.
