PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria firefighters were called to a home on N. Flora Avenue late Monday night.
Fire Battalion Chief Mike Ralston says when they arrived around 11:40 p.m., crews found flames coming from an upstairs window of the two-story home.
Firefighters helped three people still inside the home to safety.
The fire began near an upstairs window. It was put out in about 10 minutes. Flames were contained to a single room, Ralston says.
Crews remained on scene for about an hour, helping the residents retrieve personal belongings.
The American Red Cross was called to assist with temporary housing for 10 people.
A fire investigator determined that the fire was accidental.
No injuries were reported.
