PEORIA, Ill. – The musical ”Wicked” is coming to the Peoria Civic Center Theater next summer, but single-show tickets go on sale Thursday.
Civic Center General Manager Rik Edgar says the single-show ticket release is a tie-in with the movie release of “Wicked” that hits the theaters this weekend.
“Right now, you can only get tickets to see Wicked if you’re a season ticket holder, but for five days, it’ll end on Tuesday, and it will go away for quite a while, because the shows are coming up in August. It’s a chance, if you don’t want to buy a season ticket (to the Civic Center Theater’s Broadway series), you can get a single ticket to the show,” Edgar says.
The movie “Wicked”, Edgar tells WMBD’s “Greg and Dan”, is only Part 1 of the story, with Part 2 coming out next November.
“So, you can kind of watch the first act, and know what you’re getting into…if you’re not familiar with it, see the full show with us, then see the full performance wrap up next Thanksgiving,” Edgar says.
Peoria Civic Center insiders can get the details on single-show tickets to “Wicked” starting at 10 a.m. Thursday.
