PEORIA Ill. – Peoria Police have arrested a pair of females in connection to an attempted theft of a local retail store.
Tuesday just after 10:15pm, Peoria Police were called to the “Marshals” in the 5200 block of West War Memorial Drive, on a report of a retail theft.
Once arriving, officers learned that two females were attempting to push a shopping cart full of merchandise out of the store’s locked back doors.
The two were unable to exit with the cart — they then abandoned it — and attempted to flee through the side of the store’s parking lot.
Officers were stationed nearby and both females were immediately taken into custody.
Identifying them as 24-year-old Elissa Herring and 26-year-old Jasmyn Herring.
Both were arrested on numerous retail theft attempts — across several different cases.
They have been transported to the Peoria County Jail.
