PEORIA, Ill. – Each December, Midwest Communications’ 93.3 The Drive rallies behind OSF HealthCare Children’s Hospital in Peoria, raising money and awareness, to help the kids that are treated there.
93.3 The Drive’s John Riley has been a part of the effort since the beginning 24 years ago.
“We sort of came to the realization that Children’s Hospital of Illinois touches everybody. Somebody you know had a child there, you had a child born there, your uncle went there, your friend from the bowling group had kids there…you know everybody. It really touches the communities,” Riley says.
The Drive’s John Riley and Nancy Flagg will be broadcasting live from OSF HealthCare’s Ministry Headquarters in downtown Peoria on Friday, December 6, from 6 a.m. – to 5 p.m., telling the patients stories and talking about the many ways OSF Children’s Hospital of Illinois saves lives every day.
“I think after year 23 last year, we’ve raised somewhere in the neighborhood of $6 million over the years for Children’s Hospital. We’re very proud of it, but the more you work with the Children’s Hospital of Illinois, the more you want to help continue their mission,” Riley says.
