PEORIA, Ill. – A house on Peoria’s South Side was ordered to be torn down after a fire Sunday morning.
Peoria Fire says crews arrived at the house in the area of Shelley and Garden just before 9:30 A.M., finding the entire second floor fully engulfed.
The fire was under control in about 15 minutes.
The second floor and its contents were heavily damaged.
Crews did not find any occupants during a search of the home, but one resident was displaced and found housing.
Code enforcement responded after the fire and ordered an emergency demolition of the house.
There were no injuries, and damage is estimated at $35,000.
