PEORIA Ill. – One person was hospitalized after a house fire Tuesday afternoon in Peoria.
According to the Peoria Fire Department — firefighters were dispatched to the 3900 block of North Ashton Avenue, in a report of an appliance fire, just after 1:30pm.
Once they arrived, crews found heavy smoke and flames coming from the house’s basement.
Fires were also found on the first floor of the home.
The flames were quickly extinguished — but one occupant was taken to OSF for smoke inhalation — no other injuries were reported.
Fire investigators say the cause of the fire was accidental — and did around 100-thousand-dollars of damage.
