PEORIA, Ill. – The former Quest Charter Academy buildings will have new names for next school year.
The Peoria Public Schools Board approved renaming the two buildings at Monday night’s meeting.
The former high school on University will be named the “Glen Barton School” after the former Caterpillar Chairman and CEO, who passed away in 20-16.
An interview with the Peoria Journal Star that year details how Barton and his wife, Polly, were “driving forces” behind establishing Quest.
The former middle school building on Bootz Avenue will be named the “Multicultural Dual Language Academy.”
The PPS board voted to not renew its contract with Quest in January, and approved repurposing the buildings last month.
