PEORIA Ill. – A carjacking in Peoria Tuesday has two people behind bars.
Peoria Police tells us, officers were dispatched to the 2400 block of North Northcrest Drive, just before 8pm, on a report of a carjacking involving an uber driver.
The victim told police she picked up two passengers, a male and a female in the 800 block of West Hurlburt.
The subjects told the driver to take them to North Northcrest Drive.
While driving to the location, the male passenger produced a handgun and told the female driver to pull over and exit the vehicle.
The victim complied, and the subjects drove away in the vehicle.
A short time later, officers observed the stolen vehicle, and arrested the driver of the car, 19-year-old Jerome McShan.
They then searched a residence on East Hoffman — where they took 18-year-old Mykayla Samuels into custody.
Both are facing multiple vehicle hijacking and robbery charges — and were transported to the Peoria County Jail.
