PEORIA Ill. – A school counselor at Richwoods High School has been arrested for a physical altercation with a 14-year-old autistic student, earlier this month.
According to Peoria Police — 52-year-old Michael McKenna was arrested on December 11th — for a physical altercation with a student back on December 5th.
Police say McKenna asked the student to remove his hoodie, and the student refused.
The student attempts to walk away and is immediately grabbed by the top of his backpack by McKenna and pulled backward causing the student to fall.
McKenna has been transported to the Peoria County Jail.
