PEORIA Ill. – A 29-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stealing a U-HAUL full of items, Thursday in Peoria.
Just before 5:45pm — Peoria Police responded to a robbery that occurred in the 200 block of Southwest Adams Street.
According to the victim, the suspect, later identified as Davante Friend, claimed to have a handgun and demanded property from the victim.
When the victim complied, the suspect struck the victim in the face and fled the scene in a U-Haul truck.
A short time later, police located the U-Haul truck heading SouthBound on MacArthur.
They conducted a traffic stop and Friend was subsequently arrested for Aggravated Robbery and was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
