TAZEWELL COUNTY Ill. – Residents of Tazewell County can recycle their Christmas trees for free — for a limited time.
According to 25News — The Tazewell County Health Department’s tree recycling program is back after a one-year pause due to staffing changes at the health department.
The recycling program started Thursday and runs through January 15th.
People can hand over their trees at any time of day, but trees must be free of decorations.
There are 11 available drop off locations — including the ICC campus in East Peoria.
ALSO — City crews will pick up trees at the curb during the first two weeks in January for Pekin residents.
The 11 drop off locations:
- Across the street from Village Hall in Armington
- 101 N. Thorncrest in Creve Coeur
- The ICC Campus in East Peoria
- Behind Village Hall in Green Valley
- Behind Village Hall in Hopedale
- 605 S. Orchard in Mackinaw
- By the recycling bin at Park and Pennsylvania in Minier
- 349 W. Birchwood Street in Morton
- The leaf pile adjacent to City Park in Tremont
- 815 Lincoln in Washington
