At the Movies with Casey Foreman: “A Complete Unknown”
Walk the path less traveled
Timmy C needs to be given the MVP of acting for this past year – from the Lisan-Al-Giab to the legend of Bobby D (I guess the Oscar for best actor will work).
Any fan of Dylan’s music and rebellious nature will enjoy James Mangold’s “A Complete Unknown” based off the soundtrack and strong performances alone.
With little background knowledge on this part of his life beforehand, I have no complaints on the way the story was told, hardcore Dylan fans could feel different.
Loved everything about Chalamet’s performance, so clear he put everything he had into it.
The reenactment of the musical performances were fantastic, as were the voices of those portraying such legends.
The humor and fast pacing made it easy to stay immersed in the 1960’s atmosphere.
I completely see why this will be in the running for Best Picture – though it most likely isn’t mine.
Ultimately this film is about not letting others define what you do, what you believe, and how you feel.
It’s a great end-of-year watch for the family or a couple who wants a night out!
And don’t be afraid to be yourself
