PEORIA, Ill. – The price at the pump in the Peoria area is up slightly as 2024 comes to an end.
GasBuddy reports the average price of a gallon of unleaded Monday is $3.16/g, up 1.2 cents in the past week.
The average is 2.8 cents higher than a month ago, and 10.6 cents higher than one year ago.
GasBuddy reports the cheapest price on Sunday was $2.95/g, with the most expensive at $3.39/g.
Triple A is reporting a $3.17/g average in the Peoria-Pekin metro area Monday, up 1.5 cents in the past week. Their average is 2.8 cents higher than a month ago, and 10.8 cents higher than a year ago.
GasBuddy says the Illinois average is down 5.3 cents in the past week to an average of $3.18/g.
Analysts are expecting prices overall to remain stable, but could have another price cycle in the Great Lakes region.
