LEWISTOWN, Ill. – A man is dead after being shot outside the County Market in Lewistown Tuesday, and another man is arrested for the shooting.
Fulton County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Lewistown Police were called to the store on S. Main Street just before 7 p.m. Tuesday, on reports of a man shot in the head. Officers attempted life-saving measures, but the man later died at Graham Hospital.
The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office says 33-year-old Nicholas Pratt, of Ipava, has been charged with First Degree Murder, Aggravated Battery with a Firearm, Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, and Endangering the life or health of a child.
Pratt is in custody at the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office.
The victim will be identified at a later time by the Fulton County Coroner’s Office.

Illinois State Police, the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, and Lewistown Police are investigating the shooting. Authorities say the shooting was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
Police did not provide any information on suspects or arrests.
