PEORIA, Ill. – OSF Healthcare is changing its mask policy not long after implementing it.
OSF says it is now recommending masks for patients and visitors who visit their hospitals, hospice home, and clinics.
It’s a change from a policy put in place on Tuesday that required masks at their facilities. OSF is still limiting visitors to two adults per patient at a time, but exceptions for special circumstances, such as end-of-life situations.
OSF says the changes recognize “the importance of personal choice” while still encouraging practices to protect vulnerable people, such as people with weakened immune systems.
The policy was put in place as a reaction to the rise of respiratory diseases, such as COVID, the flu, and RSV.
