PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria County prosecutors will be seeking to try a 15-year-old boy as an adult for a homicide last month.
25 News reports State’s Attorney Jodi Hoos has filed a petition to transfer the case to adult court.
The 15-year-old is accused in the shooting death of 39-year-old James Miller on December 22nd in the East Bluff.
The state’s attorney’s office says the boy is too young for an automatic transfer to an adult court.
If the case were to move to adult court, the name of the 15-year-old would be released.
A judge has not yet ruled on the transfer.
