PEORIA, Ill. – A man has pleaded guilty for his role in a shooting and robbery in Bartonville last year.
The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office says 21-year-old Evan Nettles pleaded guilty Monday to charges of Armed Robbery and Aggravated Battery with a Farming.
He was sentenced to 30 years in prison for the Armed Robbery charge, and 17-and-a-half years for the aggravated battery charge, both to be served at the same time.
Nettles was involved in the shooting on Treasure Street on February 20th that left two 17-year-olds with gunshot wounds.
The victims told police they were attempting to sell cannabis to Nettles and 18-year-old Donald Grant, when Grant pulled out a handgun, shot the driver after a tussle, and took the cannabis.
Grant then shot the passenger outside the car, while Nettles stayed outside the vehicle, holding a rifle.
Grant was sentenced to 31 years in prison last May after pleading guilty to Attempted Murder and Aggravated Battery with a Firearm.
