PEORIA, Ill. – Another round of winter weather will make its way through the Peoria-area overnight Thursday.
25 News First Alert Chief Meteorologist Chuck Collins says light snow will begin at around midnight and continue through the morning on Friday.
Collins is expecting 2-3” to fall around Peoria when the snow is done, but higher amounts are expected towards Interstate 55.
The biggest impact is expected to be during the morning rush hour on Friday.
Peoria Public Works has announced it applied liquid pretreatments to overpasses, bridges, and hills to prepare for the snow.
Additional crews will treat main roads and emergency snow routes overnight.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect at midnight and goes to Friday evening.
