At the Movies with Casey Foreman: “Better Man”
He’s an entertainer…
Scratch that…
He’s THE entertainer…
Granted I never heard of Robbie Williams ahead of my preparation for this film, but following Better Man, I’m now a fan for life!
This is a completely unique way of telling one’s story, no disrespect to Bob Dylan / A Complete Unknown, but if there’s a music bio-pic that I’m riding with this winter, it’s the one with the CGI monkey.
Having Robbie Williams be depicted, as he puts it, a less evolved version of himself, is THE reason to see this film.
Maybe I have a fascination with practically any movie with a CGI ape (Planet of the Apes, King Kong, etc.) to go along with my love for British humor/vocabulary (due to my family origins) but I believe this is a film most adults would enjoy!
At its core, this is a film about the pain family can induce, the fears of following your own path, addiction, and how to overcome those things.
Killer soundtrack and great performances that will have you going back-and-forth between laughing and crying.
It’ll have you wanting to be a better man.
