PEORIA, Ill. – While conducting a traffic stop early Wednesday morning, Peoria Police arrested a man who had a valid warrant out for his arrest.
Just before 12:30 a.m., PPD pulled the vehicle over in the 1800 block of Martin Luther King Drive, finding a handgun on 38-year-old Galen Jones, of Peoria. He was taken into custody without incident.
Jones was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a firearm without a valid FOID card, and an active warrant.
Jones was taken to the Peoria County Jail after his arrest.
