PEORIA COUNTY Ill. – The identity of the man who died in the three-vehicle crash in rural Peoria County Thursday, has been revealed.
According to Peoria County Coroner, Jamie Harwood, it was 69-year-old Allan Young of Glasford who was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, just after 6:15pm.
The Peoria County Sheriff’s Office says the three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Hanna City-Glasford and Lancaster Roads happened just after 5:15 pm.
The Sheriff’s Office says a van rolled several times and caught on fire.
Additionally — the van was southbound on Hanna City-Glasford Road when it hit the back of an SUV several times…passed it, then struck a northbound BMW head-on.
The van Young was driving was engulfed in flames following the collision.
It was quickly extinguished, and sadly, Young was found deceased inside.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation by the Peoria County Sheriff’s Department and the Peoria County Coroner’s Office.
