PEORIA, Ill. – Police have made an arrest in connection with Peoria’s first homicide of 2025.
Officers were called to E. Ravine Avenue just after 5 p.m. Sunday, where they arrested 45-year-old Derrick Hall, for a shooting that left a 38-year-old woman dead.
Hall was taken into custody and then to the Peoria County Jail, booked on a charge of first-degree murder.
The 38-year-old woman was shot around 10:50 a.m. Sunday in a hallway of the Grove Apartments on W. Candletree Drive. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman’s identity will be released following an autopsy Monday by the Peoria County Coroner’s Office.
