PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria firefighters were called to a home on NE Glen Oak Avenue Tuesday evening on reports of a house fire.
Fire Battalion Chief Jeff Hascall says crews arrived around 6 p.m., finding heavy smoke coming from the attic.
Residents of the home got out safely before firefighters arrived. It took about 30 minutes to put the fire out.
Crews remained on the scene for about two hours to put out hot spots. A fire investigator determined the cause of the fire was electrical.
No injuries were reported at the scene. The American Red Cross was called to assist the residents with housing.
Damage is estimated at roughly $100,000.
