PEORIA, Ill. – A man has been found guilty of First Degree Murder for a 2022 Labor Day weekend fatal shooting on Peoria’s South Side.
26-year-old Domincue Linwood was found guilty on Thursday for the death of 24-year-old Jamarion Lee after a three-day trial.
Prosecutors say Lee’s dying declaration was caught on a police officer’s body-worn camera and played at the trial.
Lee had identified Linwood by his nickname, ”Dooder,” as the shooter before he passed out.
The shooting occurred the morning of September 3rd, 2022 after Peoria Police responded to a 12-round ShotSpotter alert.
Lee was found lying in a large pool of blood after being shot three times, and 12 shell casings were recovered from the scene.
Linwood is scheduled to be sentenced March 19th.
