PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police are looking for the driver who hit a pedestrian on N. University Tuesday afternoon.
PPD Spokesperson Semone Roth says officers responded to the crash scene around 2:40 p.m. Tuesday, finding a female juvenile who had been hit by a vehicle.
The girl was struck while crossing the road in the 6200 block of N. University. She was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Roth says the driver stopped and helped the girl, but left before police arrived.
Peoria Police are asking for help in identifying the vehicle involved in the crash, described as a dark-colored Buick.
