PEORIA, Ill. – Beginning Monday, IDOT has scheduled a left lane to be blocked westbound on the East Peoria side of the McClugage Bridge.
The lane closure is needed as part of the demolition of the old eastbound structure.
IDOT spokesman Paul Wappel says the demo work has already begun as crews are currently removing the rail wall and deck.
The full demolition process, adds Wappel, is expected to continue through late spring.
Monday’s lane closure will stay in place for two weeks with additional intermittent daytime lane closures, as necessary, until the work is done.
