PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man will remain in jail after allegedly firing a weapon at a group of juveniles last week in the East Bluff.
The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office says a petition to detain 19-year-old Isaiah Throgmorton was granted at a hearing Monday. He is charged with Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm.
Prosecutors say police responded to the area of Frye and Wisconsin at around 5:15 P.M. Thursday after seven shots were fired.
Officers found a vehicle that was struck by gunfire, but no victims. No injuries were reported.
Prosecutors say, through witness statements and surveillance video, a car pulled up to the intersection. A male passenger, who was later identified as Throgmorton, then exited the vehicle and began firing at a group of juveniles standing on the sidewalk.
Throgmorton was arrested Friday and allegedly admitted to firing the gun, claiming that he did not try to shoot anyone, but that it was a warning.
