PEORIA Ill. – Officials at Bradley University announce a new master’s degree program – geared towards those with an interest in sports.
In a statement sent out Wednesday, it was revealed that the University recently launched a brand new Master of Arts in Sports Communication program – at the start of this Spring semester.
Students enrolled will gain skills to navigate the complex and constantly changing world of the global sports communication industry and manage relationships with media sources and stakeholders.
Graduates will be equipped with the skills and expertise needed to excel in the sports industry, including careers as a sports or esports executive, journalist, or social media manager, among other things.
The new program will be a part of The Charley Steiner School of Sports Communication.
“This is really exciting for the university and for our students, as this program is one of the first Master’s in Sports Communication offerings in the entire nation,” remarked Joshua Dickhaus, Ph.D., Director of the Charley Steiner School of Sports Communication and Associate Chair of Bradley’s Department of Communication. “We understand the needs of today’s market, and the flexibility of this program allows students to choose their path in the sports communication industry. There has been a graduate void in sports communication; this program fills it.”
Applications are open for the fall 2025 semester.
