MARSHALL COUNTY, Ill. โ The driver of a crash last month in Marshall County that claimed the life of a Chillicothe girl has been charged for their role in it.
Marshall County Stateโs Attorney Patrick Murphy says the 15-year-old driver has been charged with Reckless Homicide, Aggravated Reckless Driving, and Aggravated DUI.
Marshall County Sheriffโs Office Chief Deputy Aaron Wilson says the driver was cited for no valid driverโs license, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and failure to secure passengers aged 8-18 years old.
The single-vehicle crash on January 17th occurred about three-and-a-half miles west of Hopewell on County Road 450 North, when a Jeep with six young people in it lost control and left the road before crashing into trees.
