PEORIA Ill. – The Springfield man arrested on Tuesday on multiple burglary charges, will remain in jail until his trial.
The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office says 34-year-old Keith Winters was charged Wednesday with six counts of Residential Burglary,.
The State’s Petition to Detain Winters was granted, meaning Winters will remain in custody until his trial.
Prosecutors say police responded to the area of Edgebrook and Endres on December 3rd last year and spoke to a victim who says her window was shattered and her home ransacked.
Missing items included debit and credit cards, as well as jewelry.
Police discovered five additional burglaries in the area during their investigation, all similar in nature.
Winters was originally arrested on December 18th, after he was identified as a suspect in the alleged usage of a stolen credit card multiple times throughout Peoria.
At the time, he was arrested for Unlawful Use of a Stolen Credit/Debit Card.
The investigation is ongoing.

PEORIA/EAST PEORIA, Ill. – A man from Springfield has been arrested in connection to multiple residential burglaries this past December in Peoria.
Peoria Police says 34-year-old Keith Winters was arrested Tuesday in East Peoria.
Police say items taken in the burglaries include money, credit cards, firearms, and jewelry.
Winters was originally arrested on December 18th, after he was identified as a suspect in the alleged usage of a stolen credit card multiple times throughout Peoria.
At the time, he was arrested for Unlawful Use of a Stolen Credit-Debit Card.
Peoria Police say detectives then developed information to identify Winters as a suspect in six residential burglaries.
Winters was taken to the Peoria County Jail after Tuesday’s arrest.
