At the Movies with Casey Foreman: “Captain America: Brave New World”
Don’t listen to the critics on this one, Captain America: Brave New World is a fun time for true Marvel fans!
Anthony Mackie delivers as Captain America, despite having huge shoes to fill following Evans’ exit.
Harrison Ford embodied the role of General Ross, you could think he’s been playing the character throughout the entire MCU.
WE FINALLY GOT A HULK IN THE MCU – AND HE’S RED
Is this the best movie in the marvel cinematic universe? Not by a long shot.
But it does not deserve to be lumped in with the recent releases over the years – Brave New World takes us back to the early days of the MCU – think of an Iron Man 2 level-film mixed with Captain America: The Winter Soldier and The Incredible Hulk.
It did at times feel like a direct sequel to the 2008 Incredible Hulk film, but as a fan of that movie, I was absolutely fine with that!
The action and story both kept me engaged, with The Leader making a memorable MCU debut, Mackie and Ford having a solid throw-down at the White House, and emotional ties to what it’s like being the first-ever black Captain America.
The hate this film is receiving seems unnecessary to me.
A decade ago, fans would be going wild for a FLYING CAPTAIN AMERICA fighting against A RED HULK.
Fans of the comics and the core MCU films are likely to enjoy this latest installment of the franchise.
