TAZEWELL COUNTY, Ill. — Early voting for the 2025 Consolidated Election kicks off Thursday in Tazewell County.
According to County Clerk John Ackerman, residents can either send in a vote-by-mail ballot, starting Thursday, or vote in-person at the Clerk’s Office.
Ackerman shares the importance of Consolidated elections, despite seeing a far-less turnout in recent years, in comparison to the Presidential election.
“These individuals here are the ones that decide where 80% of our taxes that are collected, are utilized. These are your mayors, your city council members, your school board members,” Ackerman said.
Both in-person voting and vote-by-mail ballots are available at the Tazewell County Clerks Office, in downtown Pekin.
County Clerk John Ackerman explains what voters need to bring with them.
“If they are a registered voter, they don’t need to bring anything with them. Now, if they are not a registered voter, they will have to bring two forms of identification, one of which showing their physical address,” Ackerman said.
Early voting hours are from 8:30am until 4:30pm – Monday through Friday.
The local Consolidated Election is on April 1st.
