PEORIA, Ill. – Hammers were swinging and saws were buzzing Thursday at the Peoria Civic Center, in preparation for Peoria’s 30th Home Show.

Companies who do home improvement and landscaping projects were busy setting up booths and displays, ahead of the show’s opening Friday afternoon.
Home Show Manager Lisa Scott says if you’re looking to start any kind of large construction project, the home show has you covered.
“You’ll see landscapers setting up stone backdrops, you will see builders constructing some beautiful walls, you’ll see kitchen cabinets or displays being set up. It’s just a lot of different products…it takes three days to get set up for a two-and-a-half day show,” Scott says.
Many of the contractors, Scott says, book their year’s schedule during the show, so it’s a good idea to come talk to them.
“Most are local, anything for your home inside and out…a lot of contractors you can talk to face-to-face. They’re occupying 325 booths, because some of them have multiple booth spaces. It’s the biggest home show in Illinois, and it’s the best place you can come to meet people face-to-face,” Scott says.
There will be entertainment for the whole family at the Home Show, as well as educational learning sessions about organization, Scott adds.
The Peoria Home Show runs Friday from 4-8 p.m., Saturday from 10-6., and Sunday from 10-4.
Tickets for adults are $7, seniors 60 and over get in for $3, and kids under 18 get in free.
