UPDATED 10 A.M.
PEORIA, Ill. – A man is dead after multiple shots were fired Monday night in South Peoria, near Manual High School.
Peoria Police were called to the scene just after 8:50 p.m., after a ShotSpotter alert in the area of W. Howett Street and W. Millman indicated 13 shots were fired.
PPD Spokesperson Semone Roth says officers found a 34-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital where he died a short time later.
The victim’s identity and cause of death will come later from the Peoria County coroner.
Peoria Police currently have no suspect information. The incident remains under investigation.

Peoria Police say officers were called to the scene around 8:55 p.m. to the 2400 block of W. Howett Street after a ShotSpotter alert indicated 10 rounds had been fired near W. Millman Street.
PPD found a male victim with an apparent gunshot wound. Police did not release information about the victim’s age or the severity of his injuries.
Police Spokesperson Semone Roth says PPD is investigating, and further details will be released later on Tuesday.
