PEORIA, Ill. – A woman was injured after a shooting at a Peoria apartment complex Wednesday morning.
Peoria Police says officers arrived to Braves Court at the Greenwood Estates just after 11:30 A.M., finding a 34-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the leg.
The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police identified 40-year-old Anecia Gilbert as a suspect, and was later arrested for Aggravated Battery with a Firearm.
Officers reportedly found a handgun and other evidence during a search of the residence where the shooting took place.
Gilbert was taken to the Peoria County Jail.
