PEORIA Ill. – A 16-year-old has been charged with First-Degree Murder – after allegedly shooting and killing his father Monday, in Peoria.
According to the Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office, 16-year-old Tykvier Drummond was charged Thursday for shooting and killing his father Monday night in South Peoria.
His case has been transferred to adult court – and the State has filed a petition to detain Drummond, which a judge will hear Friday.
He will remain in the custody of the Juvenile Detention Center until then.
Drummond was arrested on Tuesday – but the incident occurred at around 9pm on Monday, in the 2400 block of West Howett Street – after a ShotSpotter alert indicating 13 rounds were fired – and finding Michael Drummond lying face down with multiple gunshot wounds.
He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
