CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – High school basketball is officially over for the 2024-25 season in central Illinois.
The Peoria Christian and Manual boys’ teams, the last two remaining teams in the area, finished their seasons Friday in third place games at the IHSA state tournament at State Farm Center in Champaign.
Peoria Christian took 3rd after defeating Effingham Saint Anthony, 61-51, in the Class 1A third place game, their best ever finish in a season
The Chargers were led by junior guard Trae Brickner’s 26 points.
Manual took 4th after falling to Chicago Christ the King in the Class 2A third place game, 55-44.
Senior forward Amare Breedlove led the Rams with 14 points.
