PEORIA, Ill. – A 15-year-old boy has been arrested after allegedly bringing a gun on Friday to Peoria Manual High School.
Peoria Police say officers were called to the school at around 10:45 A.M. The school was placed on lockdown and School Resource Officers detained the student until Peoria Police arrived.
Officers reportedly found a loaded handgun during a search of the boy’s backpack.
The student was then arrested on charges of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Possession of a Firearm Under 21, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, No FOID, Possession of a Firearm, and Disorderly Conduct.
He was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.
There were no injuries.
