PEORIA, Ill. – The price at the pump is going up a bit in the Peoria area.
GasBuddy reports the average price of a gallon of unleaded on Monday is $3.27/g, up 4.3 cents in the past week.
The average is 1.1 cents lower than a month ago, and 49.4 cents lower than a year ago.
AAA reported similar numbers on Monday for the Peoria-Pekin metro area.
The cheapest price reported in Peoria on Sunday by GasBuddy was $3.09/g, with the highest at $3.39/g.
GasBuddy says the Illinois average on Monday was $3.39/g, up 17.6 cents from one week ago. The national average is up 6.3 cents to an average of $3.08/g.
Analysts say the price increases are due to the final steps in transitioning to a summer blend of gasoline.
