WEST PEORIA, Ill. – The cause of a fire at a West Peoria home is under investigation.
25News reports the fire was called in at around 11:30 A.M. to a house in the area of West Laura and North Cedar.
Firefighters arrived to find heavy black smoke from the basement.
The fire was put out in about 20 minutes after crews entered through the home’s back door.
One person was inside the house when the fire started, but escaped before firefighters arrived.
