WOODFORD COUNTY, Ill. โ Two people, including an assistant in the Peoria County Stateโs Attorneyโs Office, were arrested after a traffic stop near El Paso early Wednesday morning.
The Woodford County Sheriffโs Office says the vehicle involved was stopped for speeding just before 1:30 A.M. on Route 24 and 2500 East.
The office says the deputy reportedly smelled raw cannabis after making contact with the driver, 28-year-old Kali Pray of Groveland.
A vehicle search allegedly turned up raw cannabis and a stolen Smith and Wesson 38 Special.
Police say neither Pray, nor her passenger, 23-year-old Drake Tharp of Creve Coeur, had a valid FOID card.
Both were arrested on charges of possession of a stolen firearm and no valid FOID, and taken to the Woodford County Jail.
25 News reports Pray is an assistant in the Peoria County Stateโs Attorneyโs Officeโs juvenile division, and is on unpaid administrative leave.
