PEORIA, Ill. – A woman was arrested on weapons charges after one shot was fired in South Peoria Wednesday evening.
Officers arrived at the area of Garden and Madison Park Terrace just after 6:45 P.M., where they spotted 38-year-old Amber Phelps reportedly fleeing the scene. She was detained a short time later.
Police reportedly found a loaded firearm on Phelps during a search.
Phelps was arrested on charges of Reckless Discharge of a Firearm, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, No FOID, and Resisting Police.
She was taken to the Peoria County Jail.
Police say no one was injured.
