EAST PEORIA, Ill. – Firefighters responded to an East Peoria home Friday evening on reports of a fire.
Assistant Fire Chief Ronnie Marmitt says crews arrived around 5:55 p.m. to the single-family home on Knollaire Court, finding fire in the basement.
The fire was put out within a few minutes. The fire was contained to one area of the basement, Marmitt says.
No injuries were reported on-scene.
The fire appeared to be electrical in nature, but the official cause is still under investigation.
