SPRING BAY, Ill. – A woman and a dog died in a fire at a farmhouse in Woodford County early Monday morning.
25 News reports they were found in the same room, while two other people were taken to the burn unit of a Springfield hospital.
The fire occurred just before 4:30 A.M. at an old farmhouse converted to apartments on Upper Spring Bay Road.
The first floor was fully engulfed in flames, and the third floor collapsed, causing the building to be a total loss.
Numerous area fire departments were called in to assist.

SPRING BAY, Ill. – Firefighters were called to a large fire early Monday morning in Spring Bay.
The Woodford County Sheriff’s Office confirms several people from the building in the 1200 block of Upper Spring Bay Road were taken to a hospital, but their conditions were unavailable.
The fire call came in a little before 4:30 a.m. The apartments are about two miles from the intersection of Rt. 116 and Upper Spring Bay Road.
Fire departments from Germantown Hills, Washington and East Peoria were called to help fight the fire.
As of midday Monday, fire crews were still on the scene.
