PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police were called Tuesday afternoon to a hospital on reports of a person dropped off with a gunshot wound.
PPD says when officers arrived around 2:50 p.m., they made contact with a 36-year-old man who told them he got into a verbal altercation with another man in the 300 block of Wayne Street. The suspect then pulled a gun and shot the victim, whose injuries were not serious.
Officers went to the area of the shooting and conducted an investigation. The suspect was not found.
The incident remains under investigation.
