PEORIA, Ill. – Baseball in Peoria will have to wait an extra day.
The Chiefs announced that Friday’s Opening Day game against the Quad Cities River Bandits has been postponed due to weather.
The teams will play a doubleheader Saturday with two seven inning games.
First pitch of Game One is scheduled for 4:30 P.M.
The Chiefs say tickets for Friday’s game will be good for any 2025 regular season game.

PEORIA, Ill. – The crack of the bat returns to Peoria’s downtown starting Friday night.
Opening Day for the Peoria Chiefs will take place this evening, as they host the Quad Cities River Bandits to start their 2025 Midwest League campaign.
First pitch is at 7:05 P.M.
It’s the 43rd season of Chiefs baseball, and 24th as an affiliate of the Saint Louis Cardinals.
The Chiefs’ Opening Day starter will be Gerardo Salas, who had a 9-5 record, 119 strikeouts, and a 2.62 ERA in 22 starts for Single-A Palm Beach.
Peoria will host Quad Cities for a three-game series at Dozer Park this weekend.
