PEORIA, Ill. – The second demolition event and full closure of the McClugage Bridge will take place on Wednesday morning at 9:30.
Like the first demolition on March 27, the full bridge and roads near the bridge will close for approximately one hour.
In Peoria, traffic on Route 150 will be rerouted off at the interchange ramps. Adams Street will remain open in both directions.
This will be the second of seven similar events to remove the old eastbound structure of the bridge in stages.
Originally, there were six planned events but due to rising waters on the Illinois River, a seventh and final demolition was added and scheduled for mid-June.
A demolition event and temporary full closure of the bridge is scheduled for each week this month.
