TAZEWELL COUNTY, Ill. – A 64-year-old woman has been charged in connection with a fatal pedestrian crash last week in Washington.
The Tazewell County Circuit Court says Sue Sagel is charged with Aggravated DUI causing Accident of Death.
She has been released from custody, and is due back in court on May 5th.
The crash occurred in the area of the Cherry Tree Shopping Center on the evening of April 2nd.
Police say 35-year-old Michael Ayers was crossing a road when he was allegedly hit by a vehicle driven by Sagel.
An autopsy by Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood shows Ayers suffered from multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
