UPDATE:
EAST PEORIA, Ill. – Two people were seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash in East Peoria. Police say it was caused by a drunk driver.
The rollover accident happened at 10:30 Friday night in the 1900 block of Cole Street.
Assistant Fire Chief Andy Ogburn said – what he called – extreme extrication was used to rescue two occupants. They were transported to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center as Level 1 Trauma patients.
Police tell 25 News the driver, 37-year-old Orin Burgess, was ticketed for aggravated DUI, aggravated reckless driving and other traffic charges.
The passenger’s name was not available.
